Chris Bekker

Based in Berlin, DJ and producer Chris Bekker has developed since the 2000s an approach to electronic music centered on trance and progressive house, often shaded with techno elements. Active on the German and European club scene, Chris Bekker constructs his sets around long melodic transitions and gradual buildups, with a focus on textures and atmosphere rather than on pure rhythmic impact. Several releases on specialized trance labels, including Vandit Records, mark milestones in his discography and place him in a network of producers close to Paul van Dyk, with whom Chris Bekker has notably signed collaborations and remixes. The album "Berlinition", released in 2016, synthesizes this orientation by linking the trance aesthetic to Berlin’s urban imagery, between luminous synth lines and darker, repetitive structures. In the studio as well as behind the decks, Chris Bekker favors a progressive sonic writing aimed at slowly evolving the energy, which leads him to play both in clubs and at open-air events oriented toward trance and progressive.
