Skatman

Born in Tunisia and based in Berlin, Skatman has developed a career as a DJ and producer rooted in the exchange between several traditions of electronic music. Founder of the Cognitive Prophecy project, Skatman builds a language that blends classical references with more contemporary approaches, with sets in which house, techno and darker or off-kilter textures follow one another without abrupt breaks. This way of evolving tempos and moods — linking tracks from different origins into a coherent progression — occupies a central place in his work as a selector. On the production side, Skatman has released tracks on labels such as Innervisions and Correspondant, two markers that place his work within club-oriented electronic music attentive both to tension and to narrative. Present in clubs and events across Europe and on other international stages, Skatman advances his project between DJ sets, productions and artistic direction, maintaining a mobile identity shaped by several aesthetics rather than confined to a single register.
