Vicky R
Born in Libreville, Gabon, in 1996, Vicky R, whose real name is Victoria Rousselot Azizet, began developing early on a practice of writing, rapping, and music production before pursuing her career in France, where she settled with her family in 2008. Active since the early 2010s, Vicky R moves between Francophone rap, melodic hip-hop and trap sounds, with a marked taste for tracks that blend rapped verses, sung choruses and lighter textures. After several freestyles released online, she started to draw attention in 2013 with the track 'Leggo', followed by several singles and a first mixtape, All Over The World, released in 2014. Her trajectory then took her through discovery stages in Paris and appearances in freestyle formats, notably on Skyrock, accompanying growing visibility toward the end of the 2010s. In 2019, Vicky R features on Deezer's mixtape La Relève, then released the album V in 2020. Between Gabonese roots and French experience, Vicky R builds a musical identity at the crossroads of rap, singing, and an approach to beatmaking that remains at the center of her project.
