Pierre
Active since the late 1980s, Pierre Noisiez, aka DJ Pierre, is part of the history of the Belgian electronic scene through a career linked to Kortrijk, Antwerp and Brussels. Born in Belgium in 1973, he began mixing as a teenager before becoming a resident at Club 55 in Kortrijk, then at Café d’Anvers and Fuse, two important venues for the development of techno culture in the country. Pierre's name later circulated on club and festival stages across Europe, but also further afield, notably in South Africa, Singapore and Mexico. His repertoire straddles techno, house and electro, with a marked taste for direct selections, tense rhythms and efficient builds designed for the dancefloor. DJ Pierre also worked in radio, notably around the Teknoville show with Dave Clarke, and signed remixes for various artists, including Praga Khan. His discography documented on Discogs reflects mainly activity as a DJ and remixer, rather than a career centered on albums. Not to be confused with DJ Pierre, the American producer associated with acid house, Pierre represents a distinct trajectory, anchored in the evolution of Belgian nights since the early days of techno in Europe.
