Unai Trotti

Based in London but originally from Spain, Unai Trotti is a DJ-producer operating at the crossroads of minimal house, techno and break-influenced sounds. Closely tied to the London underground, he founded the Cartulis project — both a party series (Cartulis Day) and the Cartulis Music label — which serves as the primary outlet for his releases and collaborations with artists committed to a pared-down club aesthetic. His DJ sets favor long-form constructions, subtle groove variations and carefully crafted transitions, with a repertoire that ranges from hypnotic micro-house to more percussive techno depending on the context. In the studio he issues maxi releases and occasionally co-produced tracks, working with supple basslines, detailed rhythms and discreet electronic textures, always conceived for the dancefloor. Through event organisation, label work and DJ activities, Unai Trotti is embedded in a network of clubs and collectives oriented toward the most reduced and functional forms of electronic music.
