lots of hands

Born around Billy Woodhouse's songs before becoming a duo with Elliot Dryden, lots of hands took shape in the north of England, between Newcastle and Leeds, after the two musicians met in a school program in Newcastle as teenagers. Initially conceived as a solo project released independently online, lots of hands quickly evolved into a two-person writing partnership, marked by a blend of indie folk, bedroom pop, ambient and subtle electronics, with a strong emphasis on looped guitars, hushed ballads and instrumental passages. After mistake in 2020, the band developed there’s someone in this room just like you remotely in 2021 and then fantasy in 2023, exchanging demos and reworking tracks separately. This working method continued and expanded when lots of hands began to write more directly together, a development clearly heard on into a pretty room, released on Fire Talk Records, where stripped-down folk songs, luminous textures and light electronic motifs coexist. lots of hands' music thus moves along an intimate, restrained line between melancholy, melodic clarity and fragmentary songwriting.
