Durdenhauer

Active on the French electronic scene, Durdenhauer develops a slow, melancholic universe that is heavily focused on the work with sampled vocals. A DJ and producer, he first gained notice online with edits and reinterpretations of French songs, pop and rock, which he slows and deconstructs to extract hypnotic pads and elongated vocal loops. His music moves between downtempo, ambient, leftfield house and more club-oriented textures, playing on contrasts between very measured pulses, enveloping low end and repetitive melodic fragments. This collage and rewriting approach, released on streaming platforms as well as via Bandcamp and SoundCloud, gradually leads him towards more personal compositions where samples blend with original harmonies and a structure close to film music. On stage, Durdenhauer favors narrative DJ sets, often at reduced tempo, that extend this introspective aesthetic while remaining conceived for the dancefloor, anchoring him in an electronic landscape where the boundaries between club, listening and edit culture are deliberately porous.
