Cabanne

Based in Paris, Cabanne has been developing since the late 1990s an approach to minimal house, microhouse and a very stripped-down tech house that circulates between French and European scenes. A French DJ, producer and live act, Cabanne emerged around the turn of the 2000s with maxi singles released on labels such as Perlon and Minibar, and has since maintained a steady trajectory between clubs, festivals and studio collaborations, notably with Lowris. His writing rests on supple rhythms, rounded basslines, slightly offset repetitive motifs and a discreet use of vocals, in a dry, precise and mobile aesthetic conceived for the extended duration of the dancefloor. Cabanne alternates between DJ sets and his own productions while remaining tied to the Parisian scene that accompanied the rise of French minimal house in the early 2000s. Over the years his discography has developed mainly through singles and EPs, marked by a taste for detail, microscopic variations and a restrained rather than frontal groove.
