Jarhead Fertilizer

Born on the US Atlantic coast, Jarhead Fertilizer formed around musicians active particularly in the Ocean City, Maryland scene, in an environment shaped by hardcore and extreme metal. The band developed a death metal sound heavily colored by grindcore and hardcore punk, featuring short songs, often breakneck tempos, and riffing that is direct, saturated and dissonant. Jarhead Fertilizer relies on aggressive vocals that move between low and screamed registers, and on lyrics focused on social violence, war-related trauma and the derailments of everyday life. After several short-format releases circulated in the underground, the band released the album Product of My Environment in 2021 on Closed Casket Activities, which captured in the studio this hybrid approach between contemporary death metal and a grind legacy. Active on the American metal and hardcore circuits, Jarhead Fertilizer operates within a network of shows where death, powerviolence and punk bands intersect, gradually consolidating a tight identity around a dense, unadorned sound centered on immediate impact.
