Alex Neri

Born in Italy and active from his early days in Tuscan clubs, Alex Neri is part of the history of Italian electronic music, bridging house, electro, new wave and 1990s club culture. Initially noticed as a DJ, he also developed production work with Marco Baroni under the name Kamasutra, a project tied to the Italian house scene of the decade. Neri later took on a broader role with Planet Funk, a group launched in the late 1990s, where electronic, rock, house and pop intersect, and which brought his name far beyond the club circuit, notably with the track 'Chase the Sun' in 2000. His trajectory remains closely linked to Florence and Tenax, the central club of the local scene, with which he helped launch Tenax Recordings in the early 2000s. Solo, Neri pursues a DJ/producer path focused on a precise and melodic house, open to darker or more experimental textures depending on the context. Present in Italian clubs as well as on international stages, Neri maintains an approach shaped by 1990s dance culture while placing it in a contemporary register.
