Dutch Criminal Record
Formed in Chichester, on England's south coast, Dutch Criminal Record brings together Joe Delaney-Stone, Sam Thrussell and Joe Frampton around an indie pop repertoire with surf rock accents, driven by two guitars, vocal harmonies and writing focused on the everyday life of British youth. The trio first drew attention with a series of singles and EPs released over the 2010s, in a bright vein where jangle pop, indie rock, melodies inherited from the 1960s and dreamier textures cross. Their music maintains a direct live-band energy, while leaving room for more nuanced arrangements that sometimes lean toward dream pop and light psychedelic rock. Dutch Criminal Record thus develops a clear, melodic and rhythmic sound, between pop nostalgia and a contemporary outlook. In 2024, the group released its first album, Novium, a title borrowed from the Latin name of Chichester, which extends this identity by broadening the palette toward larger formats and more contrasted moods, without breaking with the spontaneity of its beginnings.
