Odd Couple

Founded in Berlin in 2014, Odd Couple brings together Jascha Kreft and Tammo Dehn, two musicians from East Frisia who have been friends since adolescence and previously played in Suns of Thyme. Initially rooted in direct, rough garage rock, Odd Couple has gradually broadened its territory toward krautrock, psychedelic rock, boogie and, at times, spoken inflections that recall psychedelic rap, without losing concise songwriting nor a marked taste for repetitive rhythms and looping riffs. The duo, who share across songs the vocals, keyboards, guitar, bass and drums, built their place in the German indie rock landscape with a steady discography: It's a Pressure to Meet You (2015), Flügge (2016), Yada Yada (2018), Universum Duo (2020), and the EP Odd Johann + Klaus Couple (2017). In 2025 Odd Couple released Rush-Hour des Lebens, continuing this evolution between garage energy, psychedelic textures and kraut mechanics. Odd Couple thus fits into a Berlin scene where German rock heritage, short formats and a search for more oblique forms intersect.
