King Doudou

Under the name King Doudou, Hugo Douster has developed a practice as a DJ and producer in France focused on club music that circulates across multiple scenes — from Latin American dembow to Ivorian coupé-décalé, from baile funk to Jersey club, with detours into dancehall, reggaeton and rap. His tracks and sets rely on highly percussive rhythms, punchy bass and tight formats, in an aesthetic that links popular dance traditions to a contemporary reading of electronic music. King Doudou has performed at festivals such as Dour and Sónar as well as in clubs across South America and Asia, and two Boiler Room appearances helped bring his work to a wider audience. At the same time he produces for other artists, moving between French rap, dancehall and reggaeton, with credits for PNL, Bad Gyal, J Balvin, Skrillex and Diplo. He contributed to J Balvin’s album Colores (2020) and to the Fast X soundtrack (2023) alongside Duki and Ludmilla.
