Paper Skies

Based in Toronto, Paper Skies is the project of Daniel Sanchez, a Canadian producer active since the mid-2010s in an electronic register that crosses bass music, melodic EDM and pop influences. His career initially developed online and through production work for other artists, alongside design and writing activities, which nourished a visual and structured approach to his music. Paper Skies shapes a sound focused on bright textures, sharp builds and punchy drops, with a marked taste for contrasts between atmospheric passages and festival energy. His discography released under this name spans several singles and EPs from the latter half of the 2010s, before the release of the Wireframe album in 2024. This first long-form format more clearly defines the project's contours, between bass music, future bass and melodic construction. Paper Skies' trajectory sits within the North American electronic music scene, with appearances on lineups associated with artists such as Dabin, Adventure Club, ARMNHMR or Subtronics, in a context where the project evolves from a production-heavy listening orientation toward a form more directly geared toward live performance and the dancefloor.
