CHEETAH

Born in Busan in 1990, Cheetah, whose real name is Kim Eun-young, first built her career on South Korea’s underground rap scene before officially debuting in 2010 as part of the duo Blacklist with the track "Stop (Money Can’t Buy Me Love)". After the project ended quickly, Cheetah pursued a solo career, appeared on the show Show Me the Money, and in 2012 formed the duo Masterpiece with Crush for the single "Rollercoaster". Her first EP, Cheetah Itself, was released in 2014 and established a rap style rooted in Korean hip-hop, combining sharp flows, more melodic hooks and productions close to trap and urban pop. In 2015 she gained visibility by winning Unpretty Rapstar and followed up with songs such as "My Number". Her subsequent career shows an artist active between solo releases, collaborations and television, notably serving as a mentor on several seasons of Produce 101. Cheetah later released the album 28 Identity in 2018 and the EP Jazzy Misfits in 2020, where her palette opened to more soul and jazz textures while remaining within rap. She has also made frequent appearances on Korean music programs, including King of Mask Singer, confirming a trajectory shaped by the hip-hop scene, television formats and cross-disciplinary projects.
