Moderna

Based in Berlin after a spell in Los Angeles, Moderna develops an approach situated between dark disco, electro, techno and EBM, with a marked taste for dark textures, taut rhythms and a vocal presence that occupies a central place in her productions. Moderna's trajectory begins in the noise band The Static Cult, an initial step that highlights her interest in underground scenes and the more abrasive forms of electronic music. Over the years she has built a career as a producer, DJ and curator, notably around Brave New Rave, a project that takes the form of both a label and a radio show. Her discography includes several collaborations with Theus Mago, released on labels such as La Dame Noir, This Side Up and DURO, as well as remixes — including a reworking of “Bullet Time” linked to The Matrix 4 universe and a contribution to Curses’ Next Wave Acid Punx compilation. As a club artist Moderna has played venues like Rex Club in Paris, Womb in Tokyo and Kater Blau in Berlin, as well as various festival contexts. In 2024 Moderna released the album The Future is Among Us.
