Broken By The Scream

Formed in Japan in 2016, Broken By The Scream develops a unique crossover between Japanese idol culture and modern metal, combining clean vocals, pop harmonies, saturated screams and structures drawn from metalcore, djent and, more broadly, j-metal. The band made its recorded debut in 2017 with a self-titled single released in a limited edition, followed the same year by the mini-album Screaming Rhapsody. Their first full-length, An Alien’s Portrait, appeared in 2018, followed by Noisy Night Fever in 2019, which includes “Ai wa Kimino Mono”, used for the game Onee Chanbara Origin. After the mini-album 〜Extended〜 in 2021, Broken By The Scream issued Rise Into Chaos in 2022 on Tokuma Japan Communications, then Whitewater Park in 2023, ReMake Them Joy in 2024 and Solar Strain in 2025. The quartet’s trajectory has been built as much on record as on stage, within rock and metal circuits in Japan and later in Europe, with a regular festival presence. In 2026, Broken By The Scream signed with Metal Blade Records, a step that accompanies the expansion of their activities outside Japan.
