Summer Pearl
Based in London, Summer Pearl creates music at the crossroads of jazz, neo-soul, reggae, hip‑hop and dub, with songwriting that alternates rhythmic tension, sharp breaks and more introspective passages. Her voice links these influences within a contemporary soul framework, where personal stories sit alongside more political themes — notably the condition of Black women in Britain — as well as love, loss and questions of emancipation. Before fully asserting her solo project, she collaborated in 2017 with producer Eva Solaris as part of Sol Tempo, a project that produced the songs “Green Eyes” and “Daughter of the Prophet”; “Green Eyes” was later reissued under her name in 2022. In 2019 Summer Pearl released her first EP, Only Child, marking the emergence of an artist associated with the London scene open to crossovers between soul, jazz and rhythms inherited from reggae and hip‑hop. Her trajectory has also taken her to lineups such as the Montreux Jazz Festival and the Printemps de Bourges.
