Mac Saturn

Formed in Detroit, Mac Saturn brings together Carson Macc on vocals, Nick Barone and Mike Moody on guitars, Ian Lukas on bass and Angelo Coppola on drums. The band develops a rock informed by soul and funk, where the Motown legacy intersects with pop choruses, edgy guitars and a very present rhythm section. Mac Saturn drew attention in the early 2020s on Detroit’s rock scene with a string of singles, before refining that blend on the EP Until the Money Runs Out, released in 2022, which includes “Mr. Cadillac” and “Diamonds.” In 2024 Mac Saturn released Hard to Sell, a debut album that expands this aesthetic across classic rock, rhythm and blues and a more forward melodic songwriting. Driven by the long-standing partnership of Carson Macc and Nick Barone, Mac Saturn constructs a direct, warm and agile sound, where the impact of the riffs remains tied to supple vocal lines and to a groove that points as much to the American rock tradition as to Detroit’s musical context.
