Based in Montreal, DJ Cinéma Quartier Latin has been developing since 2020 an electronic music project centered on lo‑fi house with nostalgic contours, where supple, danceable rhythms meet deliberately worn textures and direct melodies. A producer as well as a DJ, he first built his universe through a series of singles before releasing the EPs Red Seats and Portrait in 2022, two releases that mark the first phase of his trajectory. His aesthetic remains tied to house, but with a fairly mobile approach, spanning over the years from introspective, hazy tracks to faster, more club‑oriented formats. This evolution is also reflected in his live appearances: DJ Cinéma Quartier Latin has performed in Montreal and New York, and then at Picnik Électronik in 2023. The years 2024 and 2025 mark a broader opening with tours in Europe and South America conducted in association with the label EELF. Sometimes abbreviated DJ CQL, DJ Cinéma Quartier Latin thus belongs to a Montreal electronic scene attentive both to domestic listening and to the context of the dancefloor.
