Adrien Moignard
Born in France in 1985, Adrien Moignard has established himself in the field of gypsy jazz with a self-taught guitar style, initially marked by blues rock and later oriented toward Django Reinhardt’s heritage. Active on stage since the early 2000s, Moignard has played with several musicians linked to this tradition, among them Samson Schmitt, Serge Krief, Tchavolo Schmitt, Sébastien Giniaux or Rocky Gresset, while developing his own projects in duo, trio or with an ensemble. His career links equally the acoustic swing of gypsy jazz and more open forms of jazz, with attention to phrasing, melody and improvisation. With Ensemble Zaïti, he released Still Time in 2008, then under his own name All the Way in 2010 and Between Clouds in 2012. He is also featured on Entre Actes with Rocky Gresset in 2012, on Classico with Gonzalo Bergara in 2013, as well as in the various editions of the Selmer #607 project. More recently, Adrien Moignard participated in Loco Cello in 2019 alongside Samuel Strouk, François Salque and Jérémy Arranger, then signed Django’s Songs with Diego Imbert in 2023. Adrien Moignard thus frequents both acoustic jazz ensembles and more transversally oriented improvised music contexts, always anchored in a refined approach to swing and instrumental dialogue.
