Aditya Narayan

Born in 1987 and active since childhood, Aditya Narayan sits within the Indian playback music tradition, blending film songs, Hindi pop and music television. The son of singer Udit Narayan, he grows up in a film-related environment and begins recording as early as 1992 for the Nepalese film Mohani, before appearing on several Hindi soundtracks in the mid-1990s, notably for Rangeela in 1995 and Masoom in 1996 with the track 'Chhota Baccha Jaan Ke'. Concurrently, Aditya Narayan pursues a child-actor career in Pardes (1997) and Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai (1998), then returns later as the lead performer in Shaapit (2010), a film for which he sings several songs and composes the title track. Trained in London in contemporary music, Aditya Narayan then develops a career split between singing, hosting and personal projects, becoming a regular face on shows such as Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, X Factor India, Rising Star and Indian Idol. His vocal range remains anchored in Hindi film singing, with a direct melodic writing, pop arrangements and more romantic forays in his standalone singles, including Lillah (2019), Main Dooba Rahoon (2020) and Kyun (2020). Aditya Narayan has also continued his playback work in the 2010s and 2020s with Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela (2013), Dil Bechara (2020), Shamshera (2022) and Gadar 2 (2023).
