PAUZA
In Havana, PAUZA brings together Zahira Sánchez and Paula Fernández around an electronic project born in the Cuban context and conceived as a dialogue between house, Latin American rhythms and elements of the island’s folklore. Presented as the first female electronic duo from the Cuban capital, PAUZA develops an aesthetic centered on dance, with flexible house structures, percussion inspired by Afro‑Cuban traditions and a constant attention to melodic textures. PAUZA’s work stems from a desire to give a musical translation to everyday life in Cuba, without breaking with club codes but by recontextualizing them within a local and Caribbean framework. In this approach PAUZA does not simply juxtapose influences: the duo reformulates the languages of house by integrating rhythmic and cultural accents directly tied to its environment, placing its music between the contemporary electronic scene and Cuba’s musical heritage.
