Ahadadream

Based in London, Ahadadream has since the early 2010s developed a practice of DJing and production centered on percussion-heavy club music, at the crossroads of UK funky, gqom, kuduro, dancehall, grime, and, more recently, amapiano. His work sits within a transnational circulation of sounds, with sets and tracks built around dry rhythms, direct bass, and energy designed for the dancefloor. Ahadadream is also co-founder of More Time Records, a London-based label launched with Jubilee, which fuses a British club aesthetic with influences from Africa, the Caribbean, and other diasporic scenes. In this frame, as in his solo productions, Ahadadream defends an open reading of club music, attentive to the dialogues between London and other rhythmic hubs. His trajectory also passes through radio, with a residency on BBC Radio 1, and through organizing formats dedicated to club cultures, notably around Boiler Room. He has also launched No ID, a London party conceived to strengthen the visibility of South Asian artists in electronic scenes.
