MorMor, also known as Seth Nyquist, arrives in Paris with a supple indie-pop sound, nourished by soul, hazy R&B and psychedelic touches. For years, accustomed to composing in isolation, the Canadian artist revealed his universe with 'Heaven's Only Wishful' in 2018, a ballad at once fragile and highly melodic, before widening the frame with Semblance (2022), written and recorded during lockdowns. On stage, it’s these slow, enveloping tracks that take center stage, between reverberation-drenched guitars, lush atmosphere and a voice front and center, like a thread linking the intimate to the grand format.
This new chapter also marks a letting go: less protection behind metaphors, more spontaneity and more openly stated confessions. MorMor champions a more instinctive, sometimes raw music, always guided by a love of melodies and nocturnal atmospheres.
