Info
On April 1, 2027, Madra Salach bring their Dublin-born take on modern Irish folk to Chalk in Brighton. Built first in pubs and small rooms in north Dublin, the band plays with that onstage instinct: songs meant to be carried by voices, pushed by a tight collective pulse, and shaped in the moment.
As a sextet, they draw from traditional Irish music and Celtic folk without treating it like a museum piece. Expect ballads and narrative songs, familiar trad forms, and a more contemporary writing style that keeps the melodies direct and the arrangements lively. Their set naturally makes room for recent tracks like “Blue & Gold” and “I Was Just A Boy”, alongside material from the 2026 EP It’s a Hell of an Age. With a first album, Gorta, announced for 2027, this Brighton date feels like a snapshot of a band in full motion, rooted in tradition but playing firmly in the present.
