ROLE MODEL, the project of Tucker Pillsbury, comes to AFAS Live in Amsterdam on 13 March 2027. What began as a more rap-oriented approach has grown into indie pop with a clear bedroom-pop vibe: smooth melodies, sparse arrangements, and lyrics that hit close to home. Live, it’s all about that direct connection, with songs about relationships, loneliness, and mental health that aren’t hidden behind big production tricks.
Since his breakthrough with the EP Arizona in the Summer and the later releases Oh, How Perfect and Our Little Angel, Pillsbury has gradually broadened his sound, step by step. On his album Rx (2022) alternative pop broadened without losing its confessional tone, and with Kansas Anymore (2024) he shifts toward more acoustic work, with subtle folk and country hues. In Amsterdam you’ll hear that evolution: intimate where possible, with enough dynamism to carry a room.
