On March 13, 2027, at La MAC – Relais culturel de Bischwiller, Michel Jonasz reunites with Jean-Yves D’Angelo for Piano-Voix Season 5, a stripped-down format that puts the songs at the forefront. Without the heft of a full orchestra, everything hinges on breathing, silences, and the grain: Jonasz’s warm voice, his sense of storytelling, and this blend of jazz, soul and blues that has traversed his repertoire since the 1970s. There, one rediscovers titles that have become familiar, between quiet swing, melodies that cling to memory and lyrics that speak of childhood, tenderness, doubts and small bursts of daily life. Beside him, D’Angelo brings his supple and precise piano, nourished as much by the blues as by song and by arrangements. A longtime collaborator, he accompanies, drives the momentum, sketches the harmonies, and leaves space when needed. A duo of listening and nuance, conceived to hear the songs differently: closer, more direct, at its heart.
