Tangerine Dream return to the stage with the kind of slow-building, sequenced electronics that helped shape krautrock before opening the door to what we now call electronic music. Formed in Berlin in 1967, the band’s “Pink Years” and the later Berlin School era established a language of drifting ambient textures, repeating pulses and long-form pieces that keep mutating as they go.
On 3 February 2027 at Albert Hall in Manchester, the current lineup carries that legacy forward in a live format designed for movement and immersion: evolving themes, cosmic atmospheres, and stretches where the groove locks in and the sound keeps shifting. It’s also a chance to reconnect with the side of Tangerine Dream many people first met through the screen, from landmark film scores like Sorcerer and Thief to their later work reaching into video games and series culture. Expect a set that balances history with the band’s present tense, built for deep listening rather than nostalgia.
