Info
Polyphia lands at the Manchester Academy in Manchester on December 12, 2026, with an instrumental proposition that has far surpassed the codes of technical rock. Led by guitarists Tim Henson and Scott LePage, with Clay Gober on bass and Clay Aeschliman on drums, the band starts from a metal and shred foundation and guides it toward a clear blend of prog, hip-hop, funk, pop, and electronic textures. Ultra-precise riffs, sharply cut melodies, rhythms shaped by trap: with Polyphia, everything hinges on contrast and the flow of ideas, as seen on New Levels New Devils or Remember That You Will Die, where the writing also opens up to collaborations.
Opening act RJ Pasin brings a hybrid project born in New York, at the crossroads of metalcore, hyperpop, Jersey drill, and R&B. Guitar-forward, polished production, shifts in register within a single track: his music moves by ruptures, between heaviness and more airy refrains, in the vein of a track like "Lobster" that circulated far beyond his initial circle.
Perturbator completes the lineup with the dark side of electronic music. James Kent, originally from Paris, has been building for more than ten years a darksynth and industrial universe nourished by cyberpunk and the imagined soundtracks of the 80s, but propelled toward something colder and more stark. From Dangerous Days to Lustful Sacraments, his tracks combine pulsation, tension, and abrasive textures, with a live sensibility designed as much for electronic stages as for metal venues.
