On October 25, 2026, at Théâtre Quintaou in Anglet, Angélique Kidjo will lend her voice and her sense of rhythm to a rare format. Born in Ouidah and having spent time in Paris before dividing her life between Europe and the United States, the Beninese singer has built a music that crosses styles without setting up barriers: West African traditions, pop, jazz, funk, rock, with this multilingual singing that shifts from Fon and Yoruba to French and English.
On stage, Kidjo always moves forward with the same idea: to make people dance, yes, but without losing the substance. Her lyrics speak of human rights, equality, and social justice, carried by a direct energy and a presence that does not distance itself. For this concert, she is accompanied by the Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine: a dialogue between African pulsations, orchestral arrangements and modern grooves, conceived as a constant back-and-forth between celebration and emotion.
