Julian Marley

Julian Marley plays The Academy, Dublin, on 30 July 2026 with a roots reggae set shaped by a life between London and Kingston. A singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, he writes songs where spiritual and social themes ride slow grooves, deep bass lines and harmonies rooted in classic Jamaican tradition. From his debut Lion in the Morning (1996) through A Time and Place (2003) and Awake (2009), his catalog traces a steady conversation between heritage and the present.

Involved with the family label Ghetto Youths International, he collaborates regularly with his brothers and has built a solid live profile across Europe, North America and the Caribbean. Recent releases refine and extend that approach: As I Am (2019) sharpens his introspective edge, while Colors of Royal (2023), created with producer Antaeus and awarded the Grammy for Best Reggae Album, blends vintage textures with contemporary touches. On stage, he builds focused, warm sets on tight riddims, weighty bass and close-knit harmonies, carried by a band centered on groove.
