On 16 November 2026, Squeeze head to O2 City Hall in Newcastle. Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook unfurl their art of nervy, narrative pop songcraft, between crisp riffs, immediate choruses and portraits of everyday life. The band draws on a repertoire that helped define the British new wave — from Cool for Cats, Up the Junction and Take Me I’m Yours to more recent material — propelled by precise harmonies and songwriting that goes straight to the point without losing a sense of detail.
Very special guest Billy Bragg opens with a stripped-back set, electric guitar and vocals to the fore. His performance ranges from his minimalist post‑punk beginnings and socially charged songs to his folk‑Americana excursions, including pieces drawn notably from the Woody Guthrie sessions and his recent albums. Two commanding figures of English songwriting share the same stage for an evening in Newcastle where the lyrics count as much as the melodies.
