China Crisis

China Crisis headline Òran Mór, Byres Road, Glasgow, on 11 December 2026. Formed on the outskirts of Liverpool at the turn of the 80s, the band centres on Gary Daly (vocals, keyboards) and Eddie Lundon (guitar, vocals). Their sound sits between new wave and synth-pop, built on supple basslines, melodic keys and clear, ringing guitars, with songs that lean toward the introspective. On stage, the core duo is joined by a flexible rhythm section, keeping arrangements sharp and focused on the songwriting.

The set draws across the catalogue: from early singles like African and White and the Working with Fire and Steel period, to the more finely crafted material of Flaunt the Imperfection, shaped alongside Walter Becker, then What Price Paradise and Diary of a Hollow Horse where sophisti-pop and soft rock influences step in. Expect a balance of moody, reflective pieces and brighter pop hooks, with room for later cuts from Warped by Success and the 2015 return, Autumn in the Neighbourhood. A concise tour of four decades of songs, played by the people who wrote them.
