Kim Gordon « Play Me Tour »

Kim Gordon brings the Play Me Tour to Théâtre Beanfield in Montréal on September 13, 2026. Cofounder of Sonic Youth, she carved a path through experimental rock, noise and post-punk with detuned guitars, abrasive textures and a half-spoken voice that sits between performance and intimate writing. After the band, she kept pushing that approach in Body/Head with Bill Nace, then under her own name with No Home Record (2019) and The Collective (2024), where heavy, staggered beats collide with spoken word, fractured riffs and shards of melody.

On stage, Gordon braids electronics, drum-machine weight and distorted guitar into tense, physical pieces that move from slow-burn bass to sudden bursts of noise. The voice stays dry and close, the groove presses low, and the tracks toggle between mantra and hook without settling into comfort. Rooted in no wave impulses and an indie sensibility shaped by New York and Los Angeles, her set leans on the newest material while keeping a live, rough-edged energy that runs through her whole trajectory. A night focused on rhythm, texture and presence, carried by a musician who treats the song as both a structure and a field of action.
