Info
Death Cab for Cutie comes to MTELUS in Montréal on April 6, 2027 with the I Built You A Tower Tour, a chance to dive back into the band’s knack for turning everyday doubt, distance, and late-night clarity into songs that stick. Built around Ben Gibbard’s calm, direct voice, their set usually balances chiming guitars, discreet keyboards, and tight, unflashy rhythms that leave room for the details in the lyrics.
From the early, lo-fi edges of Something About Airplanes to the sharper writing of We Have the Facts and We’re Voting Yes and The Photo Album, the band has kept refining a sound tied to the Pacific Northwest indie and emo scene without getting stuck in it. Expect the more expansive arcs of Transatlanticism-era storytelling to sit naturally next to the later, cleaner lines of Plans and Narrow Stairs, and the recent momentum of Asphalt Meadows. A night for anyone who likes their rock melodic, intimate, and built to hit on the walk home.
