A rapper, producer and DJ, Chocolate Remix is the standout name of the reggaeton, perreo and queer Latin rap scene that challenges the genre’s historically macho codes. Her sound spans old‑school reggaeton to cumbia fusions, and incorporates funk carioca, dembow, reggae and electro.
Chocolate Remix is the solo project of Argentine rapper, producer and DJ Romina Bernardo. The BBC included her in its 100 Women list, and her track 'Ni una menos' has become, in Argentina and beyond, an anthem in the fight against violence toward women. Chocolate Remix employs satire and humour across different styles of reggaeton — from old school to cumbia fusions, from funk carioca to dembow, and on to reggae and electro.
