Bernard Lavilliers

Bernard Lavilliers is back on the road and will stop at Antarès in Le Mans on April 7, 2027. Present on the French scene since the 1970s, he has long fused long-form lyric writing with cross-cultural music. A seasoned traveller, he draws his songs from ports, wanderings, encounters and social realities, with a taste for urban and maritime atmospheres. On stage, he blends chanson, rock, reggae and Brazilian and Caribbean rhythms, with touches of jazz, carried by open arrangements and musicians from diverse backgrounds.

The concert spans several decades of his repertoire, from songs on O gringo and État d’urgence to more recent material from Clair-obscur, including Carnets de bord. It reveals the thread that is uniquely his: precise narratives, images that stick with you, and a direct writing style equally attentive to tempo and melody. A set that moves between urban tension, seascapes and beats from elsewhere, true to his way of telling the world through music without borders.
