Searows - Death in the Business of Whaling

Info

Searows brings the Death in the Business of Whaling tour to Danforth Music Hall in Toronto on May 12, 2026. Under this moniker, American songwriter Alec Duckart crafts intimate indie folk built around close-mic vocals, acoustic guitar and quiet, layered harmonies. Emerging in the early 2020s, Searows set the tone with Guard Dog (2022), a debut that leans into slow tempos and fine dynamic shifts, then extended the palette with the 2023 EP End of the World. On stage, the project often appears in a stripped-back setup that keeps the focus on the writing and the voice, with songs that navigate family ties, friendship and solitude without piling on production.

Jordan Patterson, a Los Angeles–raised singer-songwriter and producer, joins the bill. His presence opens the evening with a contrast rooted in songwriting and a studio-minded sensibility.

This is an all ages show. A limited VIP Soundcheck Experience is available, offering early entry and a brief pre-show performance, plus a signed screen-printed poster. Searows partners with PLUS1 so that $1 from every ticket supports organizations providing humanitarian aid to Palestinians and working to uplift and protect LGBTQ youth through advocacy, safety and essential support services.
