Info
Dumbo Gets Mad lands in Toronto with a set built around psych-pop grooves and 70s-tinged textures. The project, led by Italian musician Luca Bergomi, kicked off in 2011 between Reggio Emilia and Los Angeles with Elephants at the Door, a lo-fi pop statement full of retro warmth and off-center melodies. Quantum Leap pushed the improvisational side and longer forms, while Thank You Neil pared things back toward a more soulful, cosmic palette inspired by the talks of Neil deGrasse Tyson. The 2021 album Things Are Random And Time Is Speeding Up tightens the songwriting without losing the shimmering keys, processed vocals and sunlit hooks that define the project. Expect a live flow that moves from tight rhythms to open-ended passages, with an ear for detail in the production.
Dumbo Gets Mad plays at Lee’s Palace in Toronto on Thursday, May 14, 2026. On support, Charlie Chimi opens the night and sets the tone before the headliner takes the stage.
