Mo'Kalamity

Supported by the Parisian reggae scene, Mo’Kalamity, of Cape Verdean origin, grew up in France and now lives in Paris. A singer, songwriter and composer, she performs in both English and French and shapes a roots reggae sound nourished by dub and touches of soul, with particular care for vocal harmonies and bass lines. Steeped in Caribbean and African-American rhythms, she develops a conscious, spiritual and personal songwriting that questions both the relationship to the world and the intimate.

On stage with her band The Wizards, the format unfolds live around a traditional rhythm section, with brass or keyboards depending on the project. Trips from Kingston to New York and sessions with Jamaican musicians have strengthened her quest for authenticity and refined her sound. Her fifth album, Shine, continues this trajectory and provides the material for a solid set, balancing engagement and groove.
