Revolver presents Thornhill: The Mercia Tour in Toronto on May 22, 2026 at The Opera House, 735 Queen Street East. Born out of Melbourne’s heavy scene, Thornhill has shaped a sound that balances weight and atmosphere: thick riffs, elastic grooves, and melodic vocals that slip into harsher edges. Early EPs 13 (2016) and Butterfly (2018) set the pace, before The Dark Pool (2019) defined a modern metal frame with progressive touches. With Heroine (2022), the band leaned into alternative shades, drawing from 90s/2000s rock and nu metal, with more work on textures and vocal lines. On stage, they play contrasts and tension, moving between pressure and release without losing the thread.
Also on the bill, Denver’s Fox Lake brings a hybrid approach that threads hardcore urgency, nu-metal bounce and rap phrasing. Built on direct structures, heavy guitars and pronounced grooves, their tracks move from shouted hooks to chanted parts and rapid-fire flows, with slowdowns and breaks designed for impact. Their 2020 release Silence & Violence set the template, and the band keeps exploring the meeting point between mosh culture and hip-hop sonics, with writing aimed squarely at the live experience.
