Yung Kai brings his Stay with the Ocean, I’ll Find You tour to The Mod Club, 722 College Street, Toronto, on April 9, 2026. Born Max Zhang, the Chinese-Canadian singer moves between Burnaby and Shanghai, a back-and-forth that feeds his writing and the way he frames small, personal stories. He picked up drums, piano and guitar early under his brother’s lead, started producing instrumentals in 2018, then shifted toward singing. In 2022 he began posting short covers, a step that led to original tracks and collaborations, including with bbno$.

His sound leans toward intimate pop with R&B colors, a bedroom approach built around the voice and stripped-back arrangements. References like Laufey and Keshi sit alongside currents from Higher Brothers and indie outfits like Wave to Earth, with melodic instincts shaped by rap figures such as Juice WRLD, XXXTentacion and Young Thug. In 2024, Blue spread widely online and opened the door to wider touring. 2025 brought a remix with Minnie, festival stops and his first studio album, Stay with the Ocean, I’ll Find You.
