Ão

On 18 March 2026, Ão performs at Le Pop-up du Label Paris for a concert where saudade meets indie and electronica. A Belgian quartet, the band moves forward on soft steps, with songwriting that plays on nuance and textures that unfold gradually. At the centre is Brenda Corijn’s voice, shaped by Mozambican and Portuguese roots, tracing a clear line between contained melancholy and intimate warmth. It rests on the southern-tinged grain of Siebe Chau’s guitar, which stretches the soundscapes and brings a gentle light to the melodies.

Around them, Jolan Decaestecker weaves ambient sounds, pads and electronic breaths that open the space without saturating it, while Bert Peyffers anchors everything with fine, precise, sometimes almost organic percussion. The whole breathes, tightens, then relaxes, allowing discreet refrains and motifs to emerge and linger. Ão does not seek uproar but the rightness of timbres and the dialogue between voice, guitar and machines. It is an opportunity to enter their chiaroscuro world, at once welcoming and slightly misty, in the intimate acoustics of the Pop-up.
