On February 6, 2027, The Ocean arrives at Victoire 2 in Saint-Jean-de-Védas with Solaris, a new chapter that continues the dystopian narrative opened by Holocene. The group envisions a world rendered uninhabitable and follows a handful of survivors launched into space in search of somewhere else, in a science-fiction atmosphere nourished by Tarkovsky's imagination and by the great pioneers of exploration. On stage, their atmospheric post-metal fully leans into contrasts: heavy, block-like riffs, hovering breaths, and a palette broadened by synths, piano, and electronics, even to more unexpected touches such as the trombone or the vibraphone.

Opening, A.A. Williams brings her own distinctive way of crossing post-rock, metal and more intimate writing. A multi-instrumentalist who trained in classical music, the London-based artist constructs songs where the voice, guitars and string or piano arrangements respond to one another, between slow tension and more massive bursts. In Saint-Jean-de-Védas, her set should navigate between the emotional breadth of Forever Blue, the nuances of As The Moon Rests, and the new titles announced by Solstice.
