Info
On April 18, 2027, António Zambujo settles in at the Trianon in Paris with his own distinctive way of weaving Portuguese song through multiple worlds. Born in Beja, in Alentejo, he grew up with the cante alentejano, that collective singing that shapes his phrasing, then opened his repertoire to fado, to popular song, and to Brazilian influences. Since O Mesmo Fado and his early 2000s records, he has built a repertoire of great sobriety, carried by a warm and very precise voice, where intimacy takes precedence over showiness. His albums Rua da Emenda and Até Pensei Que Fosse Minha, dedicated to Chico Buarque, confirmed this natural link with MPB, through collaborations with artists such as Caetano Veloso. On stage, one comes to seek this quiet elegance, pared-down arrangements and this constant dialogue between tradition and today’s songs.
