Madra Salach bring their Dublin-born take on contemporary Irish folk to Vicar Street in Dublin on April 15, 2027. Formed in 2023 and now a six-piece, the band sits right where trad forms meet a more modern, band-driven edge: ballads, narrative songs and popular tunes pushed forward by tight group energy. They’ve earned their reputation the old way, building a live following in north Dublin pubs and small rooms before stepping up to Irish festival stages like All Together Now and Electric Picnic.
On this date, expect a set that leans into that balance: familiar traditional textures and instruments, but shaped with direct songwriting and momentum. With singles like “Blue & Gold” and “I Was Just A Boy,” plus the 2026 EP It’s a Hell of an Age, Madra Salach arrive with a catalogue made for the stage, and a new chapter on the horizon with their announced 2027 album, Gorta.
