On April 7, 2027, Angine de Poitrine lands at Burton Cummings Theatre in Winnipeg with an instrumental set that treats rock like a living system: built, dismantled, and rebuilt in real time. The Quebec duo (active since 2023) works at the crossroads of experimental rock, math rock and angular post-punk, but with a mechanical, looping logic that brushes up against certain strains of techno.
Their tracks are shaped through the accumulation and subtraction of short motifs: dry, matte-sounding drums locking into precise patterns, microtonal guitar and bass lines bending the ear, and chromatic phrases that create small frictions inside off-kilter, asymmetric structures. With no vocals to lean on, everything happens through movement, variation and rhythmic displacement, making the music feel both tight and physical, with a pulse that can push forward like a dance floor without ever flattening into a groove.
