Info
On November 4, 2026, Tokyo Tea Room will bring its dreamy indie pop to the Yard Club in Cologne. The Margate-based band works with the vocabulary of dream pop and shoegaze without losing itself in it: reverb-soaked guitars, smooth basslines, and a restrained groove carry songs that glide more than they push. Much happens between the lines and in the lyrics, which circle intimacy, nostalgia, and the passage of time.
Live, one can expect slow to mid-tempo tracks, a light psychedelic patina, and vocals that emerge through a fine mist, while the rhythm remains subdued. It is precisely from these contrasts that Tokyo Tea Room builds tension: airy melodies against hazy soundscapes, gentleness in the arrangement, and direct, unhurried songwriting. An evening for everyone who prefers to listen to pop in twilight and with a sense of atmosphere.
