Info
Rowena Wise brings her Naarm/Melbourne songwriting to Leeds on March 11, 2027 at Headrow House, with a set that sits right between 60s folk storytelling and the snap of indie rock, garage pop, and alt-folk. Her songs move through the blurry parts of growing up and changing shape, carried by a voice that keeps things intimate even when the guitars bite.
Raised in Margaret River in Western Australia by a luthier father and a Chicago-born folk musician mother, she landed in Melbourne at 18 and has been building her own lane ever since. After breaking through in 2018, she’s toured widely across Australia, the UK, Europe, the US and Canada, and has shared stages with artists like Holy Holy, Ball Park Music, Bernard Fanning and Paul Dempsey. This show lands in the wake of her debut album Senseless Acts of Beauty and ahead of the next chapter, Bad Things Feel Good, produced by Rob Muinos (Julia Jacklin, Didirri), digging into transformation with a direct, unshowy touch.
